The noble truth: “Desire and ignorance lie at the root of suffering” – Buddha
There are always negatives and challenges that comes with every type of human desires imaginable. Making profits, indulging in luxury, and even feeling important in the marketplace are some of the desires entrepreneurs dream about.
Most entrepreneurs are often super excited about many of their new ideas and often jump into new projects before thinking about the negative consequences. I know, that I am certainly guilty of it.
How many times have you thought of an idea that came to you and was certain of its success? How many times have you spent time and money developing a product relying on its positive aspects only? It’s fair to say that we are all guilty of desire and speculation.
So, does it mean that we should not have desires and aspirations? Absolutely not.
NOT if you are willing to go through the consequences. Let me break it down.
I have learned from many Entrepreneurs, who have much more experience and wisdom that me. “Always understand the negatives and have solutions in place, before deciding on spending time and money on it.
The next time, you come up with an idea that excites you, make two lists.
1. Positives. Write down a list of all the positives that excites you and can help people in your marketplace.
2. Negatives. Write down all that may go wrong and all the challenges you may face after you launch the project.
Let it go for a day or two, and then see if you can come up with solutions or answers to overcome all the negatives.
It’s always a good idea to discuss your ideas with trusted friends who may have experience with the negatives on your list.
Once you have grip of the positives and the negatives, and have clearly decided on how to deal with the negatives when you are confronted with it, you’ll know if this project is the right thing for you.
Always go with your gut feelings, but not before you weigh and resolve how you are going to handle the negatives.
Wishing you all the success

Looking at the pros and cons is something I always do. I should probably be more structured and actually write things down but it is an important part of my process when going after a new idea. Its so easy to get carried away and forget about the cons (challenges) when you have a new idea.
Great post. I always think about the negative aspects of a project or idea at the beginning. Sometimes it’s too much and I can get paralyzed. So now I try to see more the positive aspects. If there are more positive aspects then I go with the idea.
Nice post. Liking this blog going to have to bookmark it.
