Rent-A-List Case Study- My Game Business

by admin on March 20, 2009

Jill Long is an associate with My Game Business, a leading independent developer and publisher of multiplayer online PC games such as Liar’s Poker, Redline Thunder Racing, Golden Fairway, Hometown Soccer and Hometown Bowling. Her mission is to recruit new game players, and new game distributors who want to build a home-based business marketing games, as she had. She just had to get her company out there—what better way to do that than email advertising?

While surveying numerous marketing services, Jill came across Rent-a-List.com. But she was hesitant. In a world where online advertising can quickly become very expensive, and response cannot be guaranteed, how could Jill be sure that Rent-a-List would provide the results she was looking for?

She decided to test it out. Rent-a-List was having a 60% off promotion on all targeted advertising at the time, which would allow her to narrowly focus her marketing efforts to people interested in the “Home Based Business” category. As a bonus, with Rent-a-List’s sale she was able to purchase 1000 Targeted Emails for only $36.00!

Also, unlike most targeted email marketing, Jill found that Rent-a-List guaranteed at least 50% unique visitors to her website. For example, with the 1000 Targeted Emails she had purchased, she would be assured that at least 500 of them would visit her website. So she got her ad together, and sent it out…

How did it go? I’ll let Jill tell you in her own words:

“As promised, I got over 50% response to my mailings: I sent 1000 emails, gained marketing exposure to 510 people, and had 15 people sign up for my marketing list…so far. They continue to trickle in each day.

Of those [15], 2 are seriously considering this opportunity.  With only 1 sign-up, I cover my $36 advertising expense.  Not a bad return for this market! This gives me a higher return on investment than the ‘shotgun’ approach to email marketing.

… I highly recommend Rent-A-List.  Their 50% response guarantee is a refreshing safety net.”

I just felt I needed to drop in and say how-do-you-do to everyone. I desired to present myself, my name is Chris.

I determined to post now because I feel this place as a whole is very useful and social place. I love looking at all of the themes and threads here and being that I don’t post much, I decided to make my very initial topic.
