Misinterpreting LUCK for Marketing SKILL

Misinterpreting LUCK for Marketing SKILL

October 1st, 2009 @ MsMedia // No Comments

Abe here from  Rent-A-List with more  tips for successfully getting better at  generating a steady flow of traffic to your Affiliate Websites.

Yes, I’m talking about easy and guaranteed ways to increase  your affiliate commissions.

In my last post, we talked about the most common  characteristic Affiliate Marketers share.

You may have shared the same issues.

Right now, your traffic  generation skills are adapted  from the  common practice  of most Affiliate Marketers to rely on luck  to promote to  their list…or to try to promote to other  marketers  who may not be interested.

In fact, almost all of your traffic generation “problems” can  be traced back to one thing:

“Misinterpreting LUCK for SKILL.”

Here’s why:

1. Affiliate Marketers are habitual creatures who believe ‘free  advertising methods’ alone  equates with Traffic generation skill.

2. And to become a skillful online marketer, simply ‘making some  money’ is the ultimate reward.

So even when they are actually very lucky when they finally  make a commission check, they interpret their actions as  those of a skillful Affiliate Marketers.

And this is why they will keep repeating themselves even when  it was luck that allowed them to make money.

To an average Online Marketer, ANY Traffic is good Traffic.

Let’s take ‘spending time’ looking for traffic for example.

In my last letter, we talked about why most Affiliate Marketers  spend endless hours prospecting and trying to drive traffic.

They might have some  luck in generating ‘short  term traffic’  with free  advertising methods…and they might have actually  made some money out of it.

And this is exactly what Affiliate Marketers want.

When that happens, average Marketers are thinking,

“AWESOME!  All I have do is use free methods to generate traffic. This is all  I need …and if I follow these methods, I can keep this going.”

And guess what? You’ll probably notice a pattern going on.

Every time you look for free advertising methods, you rely  on luck and the pattern begins:

1. Spending endless hours looking for traffic

2. Short spikes of irregular traffic.

3. Small commission checks.

(This is how most average Internet Marketers market online)

So, if you do this every time you promote your Affiliate website,  do you know what you are actually thinking?

“Hey – MY WAY WORKS!”

…And the reliance on luck continues.

And this is why average marketers only make small commission  checks.

It’s because they  actually equate a  successful Affiliate Marketing with a skillful  one and they only make money when they are lucky.

But luck is not the answer. You probably realize this by now.

Fortunately, this is *really easy* to fix.  Promoting your Affiliate  websites and driving a  steady flow of targeted visitors can be done  with Rent-A-List services.
