Do you listen to Critics?
December 31st, 2007 @ MsMedia // 6 Comments
If you’ve ever watched reality shows on TV, you’ll probably agree with me that more emphasis is given to pointing out the embarrassing aspects of the contestants.
The critics are harsh, snarky and downright mean. But we watch them to make ourselves feel better. I want to share a video that came along my way and how moved I was with Paul’s (a mobile sales man from South Whales) performance and his determination to follow his dream… Watch…
But the real takeaway for me is, no matter how small-minded and harsh the critics are, in the respective markets/businesses we are in – push through with passion.
For my friends and clients who do business online, some frustrated and some optimistic – here are my two cents:
“If your gut feeling is that, you’re in the right market and got the determination to push through ‘the dip’ – Pursue it with passion.”
But, if your inner voice says that you should be doing something else, quit now and pursue what feels right to YOU. If you are stuck with the idea of making it big with the Internet medium – you can still start any business and utilize the power of the Internet anyway.
Critics can come in many forms, your family, your spouse, neighbors, colleagues, even online gurus…
Do not completely believe the predictions of the Gurus that we see & hear so much, especially during the last and the first months of the year. The critics always have something alarming to say – but it’s just to keep you from trying and moving further.
In 2008, be optimistic about your business – and push through with passion. Otherwise find something that you are passionate about and start your business surrounding that.
Have a fun and profitable NEW YEAR!
Sincerely,
Abe Cherian

Your Movie was very touching. Our Thoughts Determine What we Want, Our Actions Determine What We Receive! People don’t care about how much you know until they see how much you care!

WOW!! You know my problem has always been trying to please others to much. I think this man went ahead to please himself first, and then, look at how the crowd went nuts! The lady judge was holding back tears! His talent touches people. His passion definitely has a market. He sings, and me, I like working with my hands. There is special music inside all of us I bet. So lets see what the formula might be… Passion. Guts. Use your GOD given music to please yourself first, and it looks like HE will give you success. WOW! This video is a keeper.

Dear Abe,
Thank you for sharing the video with me and others. I wept , not only because of Paul’s blessed voice but also with your inpirational letter. I was blessed with a voice that was referred to the voice of a nightengale. I was sought out to attend many schools of music, including Julliard. I was chosen to play a leading role on Broadway at the age of 17. Two weeks after my 17th birthday, I awoke in a hospital after suffering a major brain hemmorhage. My life took a path that I was not happy with (even though I am called a walking miracle) and raised 3 children and lots of other stuff.
Just 10 weeks ago, I was life-flighted to Salt Lake City, Utah in severe pain. Well, I had brain surgery again. I am still walking and the hair is growing back. I am still alive and just had my 51st birthday. I have been involved with Scent-Sations for 5 years. I was the number one recruiter their first year. I quit working the business after one year and still receive a residual but I quit because I let a “guru” bully me out of the business. I was not aware of the “vipers” that spit venom in network marketing. It took a 2 year toll on me.
Why am I writing? I receive a check every month ranging from 800-1400 dollars per month. I am in a new business Traverus Travel because it pays much better and because I still have that inner voice that says “sing to others to make them happy”.
I help mentally ill patients that are low income, the lost and forgotten.
Residual Income is the only way that I can support myself so that I can be free to let God use me with the suffering and hurting.
Could you please give your opinion on what I should do? I have never asked one internet business owner what I am asking you. I believe that God had something to do with me receiving your blessed letter. It is the end of a difficult yet another year of growing for me. I always have hope for the coming year.
Whatever you may reply, I honor your wisdom and how you shared it with so many!!!!!
May God shower you with His blessings today and the future. Happy New Year!
Respectfully,
Linda

Hello Abe
My name is Mike, I’m 54 years old with one heart attack on the clock, and not looking to have another. I’ve just finished wiping away the tears and rubbing away the goose pimples after watching your video, I’d heard of the boy, but have never heard him sing until today, he is magnificent. As you can see from above I have no website business, I wish I had as my job just keeps getting harder and harder, and the weekends are no longer long enough to recouperate. If I could work from home doing one of the many things I read about on the internet, providing I could earn a living, I’m sure life would become a lot easier for my wife and myself. Unfortunately, I am in no position, financially, to invest in one of these businesses, so, unfortunately, life will have to go on as it is, but I will keep the video , if our cicumstances should ever change it will be a great inspiration for me.
Kind Regards
Mike
