Do You Get Asked This Question Often?

by admin on October 20, 2010

The most common question I get from fellow business owners, family members, and friends is this….

“How is business?”, or “How is business THESE DAYS?”.

They are curious how my business is doing during a recession period.

Do you get asked this question often? I am sure you do.

Don’t get me wrong, I often worry about my business and have nightmares and fears like any business person.

What keeps me going forward are several things that I am working towards to improving my business and my ‘core customers’.

No matter what, I know better NOT to stop doing four fundamental things for my business.

1. Finding new prospects and customers. (A daily effort)

2. Keeping my core clients happy and productive. (A daily effort)

3. Constantly working on improving my products and services. (A daily effort)

4. Giving the best I can to anyone who asks for help. (Also a daily effort)

These are the things that I cared about when I started my business in 1998. These are all I care about now, and in the future.

So the answer, to the question…”How is business these days?”

“Busy as usual.”

Now, I am not blind to the fact that there are friends of mine, and potential clients that may not agree with me on this.

They say…

‘Sales have gone down’ because of the economy. What am I to do?’. ‘It’s out of my control’.

For a multinational company, or a fortune 500 company, that may be a bad thing. They often make moves in their business solely based on pleasing their share holders.

But for us, the small business entrepreneurs, we got something exciting going on.

We are a part of the new economy. The new media is changing our lives, and we are creators of this new generation of business.

If you are worried about these things, remember that there are always several ways to achieve your goal.

If your marketing is not yielding, change the way you market.

If your customers are not responding, do a survey and ask them what they want; and create your best to deliver it to them.

Rethink your marketing strategies and never stop looking for your core customers. They are your bread and butter.

Your core customers allow you the time and freedom to improve yourself and make it all worth while.

You can get your core customers the hard way or the easy way. The hard way is to go knocking at their doors and asking for the sale. The easy way is to show your offer to the masses and making them happy as they come asking for your help.

Do it the easy way

P.S. I asked my subscribers, what would make them happy with our services right now?

People who are just starting out with their online business, said this…

Affordable Prices and Personal Help“.

Our affluent clients, said this….

Lower prices so I can find more core customers“.

I can’t argue with that. Rent-a-list is now 50% to 60% off our regular prices.
