Yesterday, I learned yet another life’s little lesson while playing catch with my son, Adam (age 7).
I don’t play baseball, but a good friend and business associate Jason Gonzalaz, who is passionate about the game — taught me a lesson and taught my son how to catch.
While he was throwing the ball, he noticed that Adam was having trouble catching and was getting increasingly frustrated.
When Jason threw the ball – Adam focused on the gloves he was wearing, instead of the ball coming at him.
Then Jason said something that got Adam to catch better — and made me think. He said…
“Take your eye off that ball, and you LOSE the whole ballgame.”

Within 30 minutes of playing catch — Adam caught 7 out of every 10 throws coming at him.
The lesson I learned here was simple and basic, but one that most of us forget to apply in life’s situations.
